Die Gründer von Kumaio besuchen die Kinder beim Campingtag mit Rhino Revolution.

Learning in the open air: Nature as a classroom

During the safari, the children observed lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and many other wild animals. Accompanied by experienced guides, they learned how these animals live, how they interact within the ecosystem, and why protecting natural habitats is crucial. This direct experience fosters a deeper understanding of biodiversity and an emotional connection to nature.

A special moment: Lunch at the waterhole

A highlight of the day was lunch at a viewing platform right next to a watering hole. For the first time, we ate together here—with a direct view of nature. We were especially pleased to be visited by the founders of Kumaio. ® , who have been partners with Rhino Revolution for three years. Thanks to their support this year, this day trip was only possible. As a surprise, they joined the children for lunch, met the children personally, and even brought a healthy dessert from their own range. It was a very special experience for the children: meeting people who make their education and their experience of nature possible – an encounter on equal terms that inspires and motivates.

Effect beyond the day

This third day trip also demonstrates that when children learn in nature, lasting educational experiences emerge. They observe, ask questions, and understand connections – using all their senses. At the same time, they experience community, care, and appreciation that extend far beyond the school environment. Our goal is to encourage these children to take responsibility for their environment and become part of sustainable development themselves – in their school, their family, and their community.

Our commitment to Kumaio

At Kumaio, we firmly believe that education and direct experiences with nature are crucial for raising awareness of environmental protection in future generations. That's why we support initiatives like Rhino Revolution Europe, which not only teach children about education but also foster values such as respect, responsibility, and community spirit.

We are proud to be part of this project and look forward to continuing to provide such meaningful experiences for children in the future.
