Upside-down tarts with sweet jackfruit

These upside-down tarts with sweet jackfruit and puff pastry are a quick dessert with few ingredients – ideal for spontaneous guests.

The new trend of upside-down tarts pairs wonderfully with our Kumaio® sweet jackfruit . The fruity sweetness of the jackfruit complements the crisp puff pastry perfectly, giving the pastry a light, exotic touch. The recipe is quick, requires only a few ingredients, and is perfect when guests arrive unexpectedly.


Ingredients for 6–8 upside-down tarts

  1. Preparation:
    Preheat oven to 180–200 °C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Set a sweet base:
    For each tartlet, place approximately ½ tablespoon of honey or agave syrup lengthwise onto the baking paper.

  3. Distribute jackfruit and pistachios:
    Place the drained sweet jackfruit on top and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.

  4. Place the puff pastry on top:
    Cut the dough into suitable pieces and place them over the portions. Press the edges firmly together with a fork.

  5. Bake:
    Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
    If desired, dust with powdered sugar and serve hot.
