Pulled Jackfruit Patty

Vegetarian patty with pulled jackfruit recipe

We're rarely the ones who fall in love... but when we bit into this vegetarian version of the jackfruit patty, we knew immediately that we were! We immediately questioned whether we'd ever want to eat any other patty again...

... we can reassure you: We also eat other delicious patties (but every other time it can be this one ;-))

FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 PATTIES YOU NEED:

  • 1 can of Kumaio® - Pulled Jackfruit
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 egg
  • about 4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • about 4 tablespoons of grated cheese (e.g. Gouda, Emmental, Parmesan)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Spices of your choice (we like to use a Mediterranean tomato spice ; garlic, Italian spices, etc. also work)

HOW IT'S DONE:
Finely chop the onions. Drain the pulled jackfruit in a sieve and mix all the ingredients in a bowl by hand. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes, then form it into patties. Then fry the patties on both sides over medium heat in vegetable oil until golden brown.

Tadaaa... done! Now just combine it however you like and ENJOY !

Tip: With our pulled jackfruit version, you'll be even faster, as the jackfruit is already " pre-pulled ." Enjoy this quick, healthy cooking!
